The Caleemasaar of Ugaas Fuaad Ugaas Caafi Ugaas Cali Deer
7 July 2026 — the community installed its new Ugaas, continuing the leadership of his father and grandfather.
On 7 July 2026 the Bahgari community formally installed Ugaas Fuaad Ugaas Caafi Ugaas Cali Deer.
The Caleemasaar is the highest ceremony in Somali custom for the transfer of leadership. This is the third time the title has passed within the same family: Ugaas Cali Deer, then Ugaas Caafi, and now Ugaas Fuaad.
The Ugaas committed that his tenure should be measured by development — water, education, health and peace — rather than remembered for a title alone.
